And now, setting checks for myself, doesn’t work at all…

    • Can you give me a little more detail please? What exactly happens – does the form not open, or can you not fill the form, or does it seem to go through (with the confirmation message) then not appear in the list of scheduled checks? And is this on your computer or on your phone? And are you using a browser, or the web app, and which browser? And what operating system on the device this failed on (or have you tried on both?)

    • I’ve just had a look at the checks you set yesterday – there were two listed. I think the problem is the start date, which was set for today and not yesterday on both. Also the time zone you selected was Europe/London which I think is 1 hour behind where you are. And the end date was for yesterday, so I think that I need to introduce some error logic (if I can) to prevent being able to select an end date earlier than the start date. Not sure if I can but I will look into it.

    • OK I have had a look at the form plug in that I use, and there is no way to check the end date against the start date to prevent it being earlier; I can write some code to check it after submission but that is really too late, so I am thinking of changing the form slightly – at present, both the start date and end date default to today’s date if the user does not select a date. The only change I can make is to not have a default date, forcing the user to actively select a date, although this will still not solve the issue if the user selects an earlier date by mistake. In your case you chose a start date for the next day, and I am assuming you didn’t select an end date, so the default date was automatically entered. This meant that logically the check couldn’t happen, so my code prevented it displaying in the scheduled checks table. So another option would be to put clearer instructions both on the form and on the page where the checks table appears; on the form that would be above the end date selection, and something like “Please make sure the end date you select is either the same or later than the start date”, and on the page, something like “If you set a scheduled check for yourself but it has not appeared below, the start date selected was after the end date and your check cannot be carried out. Please fill the form again and make sure the end date is on or after the start date.” Alternatively I can write the code I mentioned and have a similar message appear in a popup after submission, but it might be slightly confusing as the form would already have informed of a successful submission. I did also try to find a way to automatically enter the time zone so the user doesn’t have to select it but, again, it is not straightforward. I had to add that to the form so that the correct time for where the user is located was used when sending the check; again I think you might have skipped it, as the default is set to London, as it is the half way point in terms of time. I chose to have defaults on the date and time zone fields because I thought it would make filling the form quicker for most people, but that is at the cost of not having a warning appear when a field has not been completed. I think having the start date defaulting to today is OK, but maybe not time zone or end date? Do you have any thoughts?

Oh, last thing: the check I set for myself, has again disappeared without notice.

    • The checks are meant to disappear if they have finished, so I will check myself to make sure the code I wrote to detect and handle this is operating correctly. I did receive a No Response alert for you though so at least that part is working, or so it appears.

Also, I don’t know where the server is, but the delay is quite long… Loading on my phone takes 40 seconds. Loggin in takes 10 seconds.

    • On my phone the click (and click-hold) works as it is supposed to. So don’t change anything there. Also the time works correctly now. For some reason, I’m not where my phone says I am. It is about 10 kilometres off. Don’t ask me why.
Is there an option to add a link to a map, where to find me?

      • The Safe alerts are deliberately only the general area (town, county/state/region), while the Not Safe alerts are meant to be very specific, including (when available) street address. All locations are dependent on what technology exists in the area, and relies on Google maps. So let me know if the Not Safe ones for you are inaccurate, although I’m not sure if there is much I can do to improve that.

    • Hmm.. This time I clicked and held for about 5 seconds. Nothing happened. Then I let go – and it turned green, and this appeared in my timeline. The good news is: the time corresponds with the Dutch time. Let me try on my phone (this, and the posts from today) were on my pc.

I’ve just done a second safety-check in a few minutes. The pop-up-screen with the checkmark that I’m safe, does come up – but the big blue button, remains blue. And no notification arrives in my timeline.

I’ve just logged in – and the bell at the top right corner does not have a number next to it. I may not have any new notifications, due to which I also get no chime.
The most recent safety-check did not appear in my timeline.
